Feb.25th ( feb. 26th in 15 minutes!)

Yep, alot has happened between when i posted last and now: i got my report card back (85 average overall). Which isn't bad considering my Chemistry mark! Well, i'm figuring I oughta try out for the improv team based on the following facts:

- Charlotte Genge encouraged me saying she thought i'd be good at it ( or to at least try out)

-I had an interest in it back in grade 7 ( but never made the team) then from grades 8-9, basketball had my attention and grade 10 and this year, i was trying to figure some important stuff out

- I would have 2 years of Theatre Arts class and 2 or 3 1 week theatre camps "under my belt": giving me the much needed understanding to make the team

-Most ( if not all) of the Current Improv Team would have Graduated by the end of this year!

Moving on, I haven't been reading the bible quite as frequently as i would've liked. However, I did get to practice " Ludy be a LAdy" for voice lessons (an upbeat broadway-style song) and i tried singing in the hall at lunchtime yesterday ( or the day before): once again the hall went more and more silent as i sang!

All the same, our youth group (West End Baptist) had a Games Night tonight : we played Yahtize ( the game you were you roll the dices and try to go for different combod and add up the points) and other games: we also play some circle-style volleyball and I brang driven for gamecube. (Driven is a racing game, I even brought the wheel and brake and gas pedals yet no one used it... where's jared, tim and aaron w. when you need them? lol)

Oh well, I should end this post before i start to ramble!

Feb.26th (12am) update on last weekend's youth winter retreat!

Well for starters:

- The most of the retreat was focused on two things:

1. The book of Phillipians (in the bible)
and
2.Characteristics of a Godly Servant

I really enjoyed this retreat quite a bit ( despite my worries I wouldn't have enough time to complete my homework!)In the end, I got the bare minimum of my homework done but God kinda allowed my math quiz to be pass ahead...twice. Funny how God works at times!

This was the highlight activities for me:

- Lots of good Large and small group bible studies

- two to three speakers on Short-Term missions:what they are all about, what they're like, the ups , the downs and what you'll need to be ready to go on one ( plus a recount of their experiences)

-Fun games: air hockey, this version of soccer where you use marbles to deflect the soccer ball into the net,etc..

- Building a snow trench ( when everyone else was tubeing)

- personal bible studying: like how i learned in Acts 10 that Peter still struggled with trying to keep Jewish laws when Jesus had already fulfilled them and made new ones ( such as Peter being hesitant towards being around non-Jewish people)

- random moments of fellowship

Overall, it was time well spent...

Feb. 12th/2005 (At the beginning was in my my opionion my favourite part about yesterday)

Yep, the highlight of last night was definitely going to the Improv Competition at Rabbittown Theatre just down the road from Bishops College ( and the Improv champs: bishops college improv team) were the ones competing.

Here's how the rules worked:

- The host picked the type of game played and who would be in the scene ( at random) and sometimes give suggestions

- The improvers would improvise the scene to the best of their ability. If they wanted help in the scene, they could throw out a red card which would signal the guest improvisert to join the scene

- After the scene is finished, the host would signal ratings from 1 to 5 on his hands :1 being the worst rating , 5 being the best
- The audience would cheer for the rating that they believed the improvisers in that scene deserve ( for that scene) . Whatever one got the most cheering/clapping was what was awarded
- Every now and then, the host would announce its time to eliminate someone: whoever has the lowesr score is eliminated from the competition. However if there is a tie for last place, then they must either do a tie breaker improv game or they must plea for 10 seconds why they shouldn't be eliminated. Then, the audience would decide

- The last improver left standing wins

In this case, it was Charlotte Genge.

Well today, i got up at around 10 am, got a shower and had brunch.

Then, i got on msn at around 11 am and: - checked my e-mails - talked a bit,etc..

(Sometime in the afternoon, our youth group is doing something)
Well, thats all for now : i'll update this later in the day

Feb. 6th/2005

Yep.... I woke up 8/8:30 a.mish this morning. I got a shower then headed out to sunday school. We had a cool activity monday in the sr. high class: we had to write on our left hand a characteristic we like most in friendship, make a fist then get something to open our hand ( I couldn't get Jared's hand open: talk about an iron grip). By the way, I wrote honesty on my hand. And well,Ms. Sutherland told us about how we get to know our friends and asked us to apply it to getting to know Jesus : the best friend one could ever have. And well afterwards, I went to the morning service ( my dad even decided to go!) .Then , I helped serve the spagetti lunch ( with a bunch of other youth). Tonight, i'll be going to the Super Bowl Party at our church..... fun times!

Feb.5th/2005 continued

Yep, I went to pick up my buddy shawn d. Next, me , him, my sister and my dad went to Ponderosa for supper (yummm!) Then, we dropped tenille off and we headed for the game.... (between the hamilton bulldogs and st.john's maple leafs: the game was tied at 3:3 at the end of the 3rd period.... then , it went into overtime... still no broken tie... then it became a shot off... it tied 2 to 2 with only 2 people (1 per team) left to shoot... the last hamilton shooter didn't score. But when the last st.john's shooter scored and carried the day for st.john's!

My first blog ever!
